Welcome

The recognition that most diseases and treatment are patient-specific has led to the development of the personalised medicine model that promises to revolutionise our approach to healthcare management. However, personalised medicine comes with many challenges, as it requires novel diagnostic, prognostic, or monitoring devices as well as new approaches to drug development and screening. Our lab works on some of the challenges associated with personalised medicine using microfluidic technologies through problem-driven, translational research.

Our approach: we take a holistic approach to achieve impact. In particular, we collaborate closely with biologists, clinicians, our partners in low and middle income countries (LMIC) and companies. We believe that the tools and methods we develop should be in the hands of the people who need them most.

Our strengths: we combine the analytical power of microfluidics with sensors and actuators to develop integrated microfluidic platforms to sense, control and perturb microenvironments. We use our expertise in microfabrication and manufacturing to develop these platforms.
